This 2-semester program is designed for people who wish to obtain the skills required to be a professional welder. From the basic concepts delivered in the first semester, to the advanced certification testing in the second, you will be working toward a well-paying job in a high-demand industry.

This is how you get started on a career in welding! This semester-long program from the Business and Industry Training Division at Southeast Tech will give you the foundation you need to succeed in the metals industry. Students are introduced to welding safety, metallurgy, blueprint reading and weld symbols. Welding processes introduced include: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Flux Cored arc Welding (FCAW), and Pulsed welding. Students progress into a second semester for American Welding Society (AWS) certification training.

This course is designed for all you welding professionals and those that want to be. This advanced course has a pre-requisite of the Basic Welding program, or previous welding experience with the approval of the CWI. This one-semester program will provide you with the skills to prepare you for American Welding Society (AWS) certification testing in your choice of two welding processes. Processes available for certification include (but are not limited to): GMAW, GMAW-P, SMAW, SMAW-P, FCAW, GTAW. Additional certifications are available for an additional charge.
